Joy and Luna went on their first vacation!

Our family went to Estes Park Colorado this past week. It was beautiful! We had a great time, and the dogs did (mostly) great.

On day 1 of our trip, Abby and I were walking Joy and Luna in North Platte Nebraska and met the cutest Goldendoodle puppy and his family. Joy made her scary "I want to meet you so badly I can't wait another second" sound and - I'm not saying it was her fault - the next thing I knew, I had flown over Joy, she and Murphy Goldendoodle were chatting and I was sprawled on the gravel parking lot. I have pictures of everything but THAT. Everything else about the trip was very good!

I love this mural. I can't believe I hadn't seen it before. It is in Kearney Nebraska. The flag was at half mast in honor of the police officers killed in Baton Rouge Louisiana.

Downtown Estes Park
Downtown Estes Park - This is one of those things that is usually green. I like how it is painted!
We counted at least five taffy shops.
We saw five hummingbirds! They are so beautiful!
Apparently there's this new Pokemon game?
Estes has instruments outside that you can just play! So fun.
Amanda's friend Alex was on vacation near Estes. She told Amanda she saw a double rainbow. We didn't see that, but we did see this rainbow. Thanks Alex! We would not have looked up!
At least half the time we expected to see a baby, we saw a Tiny Dog instead. One of those times, I am not making this up, we saw a tiny Yorkie in a purple top hat. I did not get a picture, but we did get a picture of this cute Doxie.
Chipmunks everywhere! They are so cute!
Russ and Abby and I were walking around a lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. I got spooked because of lightning (our friend Dr. Megan Belfiore has been struck TWICE by lightning!), and I saw this elk on the way back to the car. The lightning had stopped. She let me sit and watch her eat.
These flowers were outside the rock shop near Estes. It was a very fun shop/museum.
At the end of every evening, we would gather at our cabin and watch shows. This is Abby and Luna being cute.
Next up! Reviews of where we stayed and where we ate and what was colored. I have a very narrow expertise that includes NONE of these things, but reviewing things is fun. I ONLY give five star reviews. :) It will be fun to share some more of my favorite things from the trip with you!
We had a great week, and we miss the mountains already, but it is very good to be home.
