Last night, Russ and I attended the Nebraska Humane Society event, Black Tie and Tails, as guests of Dr. Pete and Andrea Bashara. Thank you Basharas! We had a wonderful time!
Black Tie and Tails is hosted by the Nebraska Humane Society every other year to raise money for the animals of Omaha, specifically abandoned and homeless animals in need of medical care.
This is a cause dear to my heart, this year more than ever.

This year, Black Tie and Tails celebrated the leadership of Judy Varner as she retires after eighteen years. She has done incredible things for Omaha and amazing and transformative things for the Nebraska Humane Society.
The silent auction before dinner. Were I not frozen with anxiety, I would have said hello to Mayor Stothert (top right). And also apologized for shoulder checking her last we were together so I could get a better look at the police goat at the downtown stables. As it was, I took this picture instead of all that. I love the carpet. Russ does not.
This. This is the reason I can be in a crowd. I loved getting to see so many people I love and being there for this amazing event. I would have hated missing it. Thanks Finch. I had a great time with you.

I got up to take a picture of the people at the table. Russ is laughing because he knows I would not notice until I looked through the pictures later - It took one second for Gordon to steal my seat! But then I got to talk with Mrs. Horstman some, which I wanted to, but would have not have been brave enough. Joy the Puppy says, "Thank you for the new toy." This picture was taken less than twenty-four hours after I took the brand new toy out of the bag and handed it to Joy and Luna. Look how worn out it is! THAT'S how much they love it!
Thank you Nebraska Humane Society for all you do for the pets and people of Omaha and beyond. Thank you Judy Varner for all you have done and do and will do for the pets and people of Omaha. You (plural) are amazing.
