Dougie and Periwinkle - always up for an adventure!

This one is in full color instead of the usual dog and cat vision y’all!

We joined Sirius Veterinary Orthopedic Center for the Pride Parade yesterday.

Dougie already exhausted! He was not the one I thought would have trouble! He quickly rallied. Photo from Sirius <3

I use “joined” loosely. By the time we reached the queue Dougie was so hot and tired that Erika and Russ and I dipped to a shady area with the doggos, and Blue and Rosalie continued on with Sirius.

The young ones bravely carried on! Photos from Sirius <3

They marched - we gathered candy. It takes everyone!

A good time was had by all.

I love these T’s we found that resemble Sirius’s logo!

The best time was had by Periwinkle Pug. We were so nervous about the heat and humidity that we filled her covered wagon with ice packs and blankies, and she was as comfy as she had ever been, which is kinda a huge life goal for her.

Dougie quickly recovered with shade, water and the adoration of the crowds, and we settled in for what was the best Pride parade we had been to yet. And there have been some great ones.

My deepest gratitude to those who have gone before. Our kids’ generation - though it still can be awfully rough and there is so much progress yet to be made - has such a hopeful future paved.

Lookit who we found! The cutest kid came to give us a fabulous (Secret Penguin!) sticker and I started to tell him he looks like my nephew! :D

Thank you Sirius for including us all. You are the best, and we are so blessed to have you here in Omaha.

Were it not for already having a super awesome job and career I love so much, and the arduous and very impressive specialization requirements that I in no way possess, and, well, bones making me really squeamish, I would love to be part of your team. Glad we could yesterday!

Happy Pride all! 🌈
