This is part of a month long series on depression. This post is about an excellent podcast of Dave Nicol on veterinary suicide.
Veterinary suicide...every twelve weeks...four times the rate as the general population...twice the rate as other medical professionals...If we are in the profession, we've all been affected.
"How are you Shawn?" my friend Dr. Dave Nicol asked between sessions at Kansas City Central Veterinary Conference 2017. I knew immediately he was asking as more than a greeting (maybe because he was being serious, which is not super common for Dave). So I told him. He said comforting things, stabilizing things. He also pointed me to his excellent podcast, Blunt Dissection.

Let's Talk About Veterinary Suicide
The guests on this session are Dr. John Dooley and Dr. Nadine Hamilton.
Thank you doctors three. You are saving lives, and what you have said and shared is so very important.
This is neither here nor there, especially considering the severity of the topic, but you all have the coolest accents ever.
What are your thoughts Friends? On the podcast I mean. Though the cool accents are certainly up for discussion as well.
