On Scrubs, my all time favorite show, Turk was talking about a struggle he was having with his diabetes. Elliot said, "Get a disease people can see!" I laugh every time I watch that scene, not because it is funny, but because it is a shockingly horrible thing to say.
If Russ needs to break me out of a cycle of saying depression isn't the worse thing I could have, or it is not a physical issue (it is) or downplaying it in any way, he reminds me of that scene, and I realize how horrible I am being to myself.
Everyone except me has been kind and empathetic to me.
I do not need anyone being horrible to me, Self. This is a hard enough struggle as it is.
