This past weekend, Russ and Amanda and Abby and I travelled to Nebraska City for a weekend away. Kelly Turley, Jenny Sutherland and I were attending a continuing education meeting thanks to the MidWest Vet team here in Omaha.
I purposely left my phone at home (!) and Abby was in charge of photos. She did great! This was one of my favorites - This is the view going down the stairs at Lied Lodge to the conference on the bottom floor.
It was such an amazing weekend.
The continuing education was great down to the very individual speaker and individual talk. It was the First Annual Arbor Veterinary Symposium at Lied Lodge by the VCA MidWest Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center. They hit it out of the park on their first try! Everything about the weekend was so good.
The company was great. I LOVE having my family around for continuing education stuff. I am increasingly grateful every year that my growing up kids will still hang out with us. We got to eat lunch with Kelly - I can't remember the last time we sat together for more than an hour and did not work! It was wonderful. And I caught up with vet and tech friends and met new veterinarians and technicians, which I always love.
The setting - Lied Lodge and Conference Center - is amazing! I had walked through, but never gotten to really see it or stay there until now. If they let dogs in, it would be perfect :) It WAS nice to have pizza delivered Friday night and not have Joy and Luna bark their fool heads off. And we knew they were in good hands with Janna. Still, we missed the goofballs, and they would have loved it.

It will take me longer to actually process all of the medical information. I will tell you about that too if you would like. For now, THANK YOU MidWest team! You guys are all amazing, and we are so blessed to have you here in Omaha. THANK YOU for the great speakers, the great info and the great weekend in Nebraska City.
I loved spending the weekend with you. It was perfect.
