Sapphire the therapy dog works at the same school as my Aunt Penny Bell.
Here is Sapphire's story as told by Penny...
(Thank you Aunt Penny! Love you so much!)
These pictures are from Thursday December 1, 2016 with students walking her and reading to her.
We had our weekly visit from Sapphire the Therapy Dog. She visits every Thursday from 1-3 pm.
She usually sees about ten to fifteen students. Teachers request certain students see her for various reasons. They can choose "Sapphire time" by earning "Gotcha tickets." It is a positive behavior program we have that rewards students for being kind, responsible, respectful or safe. Also students may have emotional issues or just need a smile or a break from the classroom.
They can play outside with Sapphire and her ball, brush her, walk her or read to her.
Sapphire went through six months of training to become a therapy dog.
Sapphire was all tuckered out by the end of the day!
Good Girl Sapphire! <3
