Our neighborhood Christmas party was last night. We had a very fun time with all of you!

When we chose our home over a decade ago, we did not think to look at the schools in the area or meet the neighbors or even drive around the neighborhood. We didn't really think through things well at all. We just immediately fell in love with the house, mostly, to be perfectly honest, because it smelled like apples.

As we walked in the front door, our (patient, tolerant, amazing) realtor said he would talk with the homeowner, but in a rare burst of extroversion, I yelled around him, "I love your home! I would pay anything to live here!" Fortunately, the homeowner was merciful on the asking price despite my confession, and we bought the house from her that day. So that's how we ended up here. If that isn't dumb luck, I don't know what is!

We love our neighborhood and our neighbors. We are truly blessed.

Merry Christmas all!

Every year at the neighborhood Christmas party, we have chicken from HyVee, and it is always so good!
