I wrote an article on Addison’s disease, which was found by an administrator of a canine Addison’s support group, who asked if she could use the article on their page. “Of course!” I said, and I also, with her blessing, joined the group.
Do you know what an incredible perspective it gives me to read struggles and triumphs from a pool of six thousand Addison dog families? To see blood work results on dog after dog and hear how they are adjusting medicine doses (with their vets of course!) I am learning every day, when in Real Life, I diagnose Addison’s disease maybe once or twice a year.
To see the pictures and read the stories of their beautiful dogs enjoying life deepens my interactions with my handful of Addisonion dog (and cat) families in a way that would not otherwise happen.
